Issatou's Season Reflection

My name is Issatou Hadji and I am a member of the girls lacrosse team at Highbridge Green. I want to start off by saying this is the first team I have ever been apart of. I always used to think sports weren’t for me until one day my friends told me to go to the gym and play throw and catch with the lacrosse sticks. From that day forward I fell in love with the sport.

Joining the lacrosse team has enabled me to make new friends. The team is made up of different grades, so I was able to connect with other people outside of my grade. I also learned a lot about teamwork. At first it was hard to work with people I didn’t know, but as time passed it became much easier.

Lacrosse has also given me so many opportunities. For example, we had this amazing coach from outside the school that helped us a lot. We also met so many other amazing lacrosse players who came and talked with us or showed us some new skills. Being a part of this team has given me so many good memories. At times it does feel like you are going nowhere but it takes time and practice. Later on you will see how much you have grown. Joining this team was on of the best choices I have made in my life and hope many other girls learn about the sport and love it too.
