We teach and play the game of lacrosse as a way to build community and invest students in school. A serious commitment to lacrosse gives students an edge as they apply to competitive high schools and colleges. Our participants enjoy biweekly rigorous lacrosse practice, competitive games, tournaments, weekend enrichment trips, and clinics to compete against top-level talent and get seen by college recruiters.
We provide personalized learning plans that build our 8th graders’ fluency in essential math skills. This sets the stage for success in ninth grade math—a key predictor of high school graduation and college enrollment.
This service helps our 8th grade participants get into the best possible high schools. Attending a well-regarded high school makes our students more competitive when the time comes to apply to college.
We guide Bronx Lacrosse high school students—and their families—through the multi-step process of exploring and successfully applying to college. We provide this college-access service during all four years of high school.
Our Program Directors work with our student-athletes daily, serving as trusted role models who provide guidance on academics, school life, and other issues that arise in our students’ lives.
SEL experiences are infused into all Bronx Lacrosse activities and interactions—from tutoring sessions to lacrosse practice. Together with our student-athletes, we create a culture of mutual respect and support. Students learn to show up on time, arrive prepared, try their hardest, accept and offer feedback with grace, display a positive attitude, and persevere.
As a year-round youth development organization, we keep our participants active during the school year and when school is out. Our Summer Academy in July provides lacrosse practice, book clubs, academic support, and team-building experiences. Other summer programming includes field trips to lacrosse showcase events and our annual camping trip to the Adirondacks.

Bronx Lacrosse delivers our lacrosse programming, academic supports, and other services at various locations throughout the South Bronx. Our headquarters are at the Foster Recreation Center.
Bronx Lacrosse is a serious commitment. Students participate in Bronx Lacrosse programming 4-6 days a week year-round.
No. We require participation in all our services to help students get the most from their experience with Bronx Lacrosse.
No. Bronx Lacrosse is completely FREE to all participants. We supply lacrosse equipment, uniforms, safety gear, and any other resources needed to make sure every student can participate fully.
No prior experience with lacrosse or other athletics is required! We welcome students of all ability levels.
Our coaches are USA Lacrosse-certified. All our coaches have prior experience with coaching, have undergone extensive monitoring and evaluation, and have personally played high school and/or college lacrosse.
