"I never believed I could play lacrosse because I had only seen caucasians play and was scared I would feel unwanted on the field. That was until I saw our girls lacrosse team practicing and thought 'if they can do it, so can I.'
So I tried it out and lacrosse has changed my life in tremendous ways. If I didn't join the team, I would've probably been out causing trouble or getting into the wrong crowd. But now all I want to do is play lacrosse because it has taught me to love myself, and not let others define who I am. There are times where I can be very aggressive and rude, but that's how I've been used to releasing my emotions. I'm now working hard on releasing my emotions in better ways. Lacrosse has changed my life and I appreciate Bronx Lacrosse for that."
