Dwayne Stewart named Director of Lacrosse

Bronx, NY - August 15, 2022 - Bronx Lacrosse is thrilled to announce the addition of Dwayne Stewart as Director of Lacrosse. Stewart is no stranger to Bronx Lacrosse, having worked as a counselor at the annual Overnight Adirondack Camp.

At this crucial stage of Bronx Lacrosse’s development when players age out of middle school, Stewart is the ideal candidate to take the helm of high school programming. His extensive collegiate coaching experience will elevate the Bronx Lacrosse high school teams and prepare them to compete across the region. Stewart will also provide professional development, mentorship, and support to all Bronx Lacrosse program directors and coaches to lift the level of lacrosse programming organization-wide. His passion for the sport and leadership are an inspiration to players and staff, alike.

I’d also like to thank Paul and Brian Carcaterra for their support in this process as key figures in the Bronx Lacrosse organization. I’m very excited to work with Bronx Lacrosse and the athletes they have created lifelong bonds with. I feel extremely lucky to be given such a great opportunity to give back to the game and my community in a meaningful way,” said Stewart.

Prior to joining Bronx Lacrosse, Stewart served as the inaugural Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at SUNY New Paltz, where he led the program to several key wins and milestones during their first few seasons. Before his time at SUNY New Paltz, Stewart was an assistant coach at Lincoln Memorial University where he led the team to both a top-five ranked offense in Division II lacrosse and a top-ten extra-man unit, in both 2017 and 2018.
